Q. What does it take to become a volunteer firefighter?

• Fill out a Highlands county volunteer firefighter application

• Pass a back ground check.

• Pass a firefighter physical.

• Take a 246 hour firefighter class and pass state exam this course is provided in Highlands County.

• Be willing to attend in house training each week

• Be willing to attend fire department meeting once a month second Tuesday of each mouth 6:30 pm main station

• Trainings are held Fridays of each week at 6:30 pm
